Literature Text

A small ship was ready to go at the docks of Berk. The sun had just risen and the young Vikings settled on the boat. Megan hugged her parents, they squeezed her tightly, in fear that she may never come back. She kissed her baby sister on the head and then turned to Stoick.
"Give me 3 days, and if I haven't escaped or given you any sign that I'm still okay then just attack them."
"Will do," He replied.
Megan boarded the boat, the Vikings untied the ropes and let the boat drift off away from the shore. Megan waved goodbye to her parents, she then sat down and began to row with the rest of the Vikings.

It was midday, the sun was at its highest point. They were getting closer to the Berserkers island.
"We need a plan," Hiccup said whilst rowing.
"Well give us one then, you're the one with the ideas," Snotlout smirked.
"Oh I am, am I? Well I was just asking if anybody else had some ideas, something better than you'd ever come up with." Hiccup snapped back.
"Look, I go onto the island, get Ingrid back and eventually escape, you guys can wait from a distance with the Dragons onboard. Don't let them be seen, you know what Berserkers are like. If I'm not out within 2 days then row home and get them to attack. You guys should have packed enough food and water for that." Megan continued to row as she spoke,
"You see Snotlout, that's a good plan." Hiccup said, Snotlout huffed and looked away.
Astrid peered over the side of the boat, "We're here." They came to the shores of the island, the island was very dark, mist covered the waters surrounding it. Many rocks rose above the water, jagged and sharp. Some guards rushed over to the beach after seeing their arrival.
"What are you here for?" One of them shouted over. Megan stood up from the boat and leaned over the side.
"Here for my sister," She shouted back.
"Oh you must be Megan," he chuckled, "Come ashore."
"How? The waters too shallow."
"Guess you'll have to swim then," The guards laughed. Megan sighed. She turned back to the others.
"Well, I guess I'm going then," Megan looked down at the floor. The Vikings stood up and gave her a group hug.
"You know if he touches you, then I'll kill him," Snotlout angrily said.
"Get your Axes sharpened then," Megan replied.
"Stop being sloppy to each other and hurry up! Theres plenty of that where you're going!" One of the guards shouted, they began to laugh again.
"I know which guards ass I'll be kicking first," Megan unpinned her cape and left it on the boat before swinging over the side and getting into the water. "So damn cold." She moaned.
"Movement keeps you warm," Fishlegs said,
"I'll be sure to remember that," Megan swam off.

As she came out the water, the guards grabbed her by each arm and pulled her away. She trudged up the beach and into a building. The Berserkers island was very armed, they weren't the friendly type. Guards all around the island keeping an eye out for intruders or wild Dragons. They came to a long, tall corridor, like the one you'd find in a Castle leading to the main hall. They continued to walk down. The walls were all blank, no paintings or decorations, only torches down both sides. Two more guards stood in front of large double doors. As they reached them, one of the guards guiding Megan began to speak.
"Here for Dagur, got his prize." The guard sniggered. One of the guards by the door looked at her,
"You look a bit wet, love." The guards laughed.
"Wetter than anybody you'll ever make," Megan sarcastically said. The guard stopped laughing and stiffened his bottom lip.
"Well, we can't have you staying in those clothes." He eyed her sharply, she glared back. He turned to the other guards, "Take her up to his chamber, I'm sure he has a spare change of clothes. I'll tell him she's up there." The guards nodded and dragged Megan up a small, narrow stairway to the right of the double doors. It was very dark, a small torch hung on the side after every large amount of steps. The air felt damp along with the smell of moss drifting through the air.

Once they reached the top, there was another long corridor to go down, only this was a lot smaller. They soon reached the door at the very end, the largest door from all the others on each side of the corridor. The guards opened it slightly and pushed Megan through.
"Get changed into something before he arrives, you don't want to meet him looking like that." They then slammed the door and walked away.
Megan turned around to find herself in Dagurs bedroom, it was a lot more decorated than everywhere else in this building. She gormed around the room, the bed was a king size bed, covered in red silk. There was a fireplace opposite it with many stuffed Dragon heads hanging above it. She began to go through his draws, finding something to wear and quickly putting it on. A light green t-shirt and black pants were the only decent thing she could find, they were tight but well, it was something. Footsteps could be heard coming down the corridor. She quickly placed her clothes over in front of the fire to dry off and sat on his bed, re-braiding her hair.

Dagur walked in the room, he shut the door behind him. He placed his sword by the side of his door.
"Did you swim here?" He sarcastically said whilst walking over to the fire, keeping his back turned.
"A bit, your guards made me swim to the shore, not a great first impression I'm getting of this place." She tied the knot at the end of her braid.
"I told them to look after you, I'll be having words with them," he huffed. He looked around his room, looking proud of himself, "So what do you think of this place?"
"Dull and depressing, I want to go home." She moaned. Dagur turned around to face her, placing his hands behind his back.
"Well I'm sorry it's not so glamorous as Berk, but you've got to get use to it."
"Fantastic," she moaned again, "So when can Ingrid go home?"
"I've had her taken to that ship of yours which is just offshore."
"Don't lie to me Dagur," Megan stood up, "You know what happens when you lie to me." She stiffened her voice. Dagurs eyes widened.
"I meant to say she's going to be taken to your ship, very soon, I will ask a guard to do so once we're finished."
"Finished with what?" Megan demanded,
"Oh," Dagur walked over to Megan smiling, "Didn't you read the note I axed onto the front of your mothers door?" Dagur slowly walked behind her, "Ingrid can go when we've finished discussing when I get to take your hand."
"In marriage?" She asked astonishingly.
"Well I am a chief, and I do need a wife, and I know you'd be just perfect for me and my tribe." Megan rolled her eyes,
"Fantastic," She sarcastically replied. "But why me though?" She asked, walking off. She began looking through another set of draws which she didn't go through before.
"What are you doing?" He asked,
"Oh I'm just looking around, but why me, Dagur?" She looked back whilst questioning him, softly eyeing him. He began to worry.
"Stop going through my draws!" He said stiffening his bottom lip.
"Why? Hiding something are we?" She then stopped, a pile of papers were tucked under a shirt in his draw. She took the papers out and unfolded the first one. She read through it.

Dagur,
I can not wait to see you, it's been too long. More and more people are being captured from our village every day, I know we're moving soon but don't know where too. I hope I can stay with you one day, so then we'd never have a day apart.
I look forward to seeing you next fortnight, I love you.
~Megan

She placed the paper down on top of his desk with the others and turned to him.
"Why did you keep these? They're like 3 years old." Dagur took his helmet off and placed it on the post of his bed. He kicked off his shoes, pulled off his armour then got into bed. He lay on his side, facing away from her. She sighed and read through some more letters. Each one was off her, they were so old. She was surprised he had kept them, even though she had kept his. She placed them back in the draw and crawled up the bed beside him. She exhaled loudly. She then turned and cuddled him from behind, he still didn't move.
She huffed and sat upright, turning him over so he lay on his back. She then lay on her side next to him, her left arm wrapped around the front of his chest and head resting on his shoulder. He freed his arm which was trapped from under her and placed it around her waist. There was a moment of silence.
"You still love me, don't you?" She asked. He nodded. "Say it then," He paused, gulped, and then quietly spoke.
"I still love you," His arm wrapped tighter around her.
"I thought you had moved on, seeing after what happened. I thought you did so I did too, and now I found someone on Berk. You know you can't force me to love you, and you know kidnapping my sister and blackmailing me to come here is pretty low and completely wrong."
"Yeah, but I just wanted to see you again," He wrapped his other arm around her and clutched tighter. He rested his chin on top of her head. She paused in thought, she could feel water on top of her head.
"Are you crying?" She asked. He didn't reply. She sat up and pulled him up whilst sitting on his lap facing him. She hugged him, clutching him tightly, he hugged back.
"How are your scars?" She asked,
"They're fine, don't hurt anymore."
"I remember when you first got them, I looked after you all night, you slept in my bed and I stayed awake to clean the wound and later fell asleep on you."
"Why can't we be like that again?" Dagur pulled away and looked her in the eye softly.
"You know why, you also know because I've now moved on, I've learnt from that and I'm sure you have too. I loved being with you, and I'll never forget you and the memories we made, but it just all messed up and I don't want to go through that mess again."
"But I've changed-"
"No you haven't Dagur, you're still the same Berserker from before, only you're a Chief now." She paused, "You need to get some rest, you're tired." She lay him down and lay next to him, cuddling up to him again.
"Will you stay?" he asked,
"For now, Dagur. For now."
feels for you, lots of feels.
I see Dagur as a pretty tough guy but soft inside, like deep deep deep down inside. Completely love his character aksjflsdk.
